It's funny, now that we have Transformers DVDs it has become painfully obvious, even to the stupid, that the art on the old Transformers cartoon was bad. Even some of the most spectacular sequences simply don't stack up to viewing as DVD quality stills.

(The same is not true of the Movie. Those stills look great!)

What we have on this page isn't so much bad art as weird art. Sometimes you get a still frame of the cartoon, take one look at it and go 'huh'? Then there's some where you look at it, go 'huh?' then look again and go, 'bloody hell...' until you're finally saying, "WHAT THE F**KING HECK IS THAT?!"

It is those sorts of images to which this page is dedicated.

"I bought a new vibrator".

Comments:  This is the kinda stuff I'm talking about. Here we have a seemingly innocent scene, where the Autobots are all standing around. Then, suddenly, for no reason, one might notice that... Bluestreak has Bumblebee's head!

Well, okay, that's not quite true.  It is Bluestreak's head, but coloured like Bumblebee's. Sure is weird to look at.

(Also; Ratchet's head is black for some reason.)

And I shall call him... no! NO AUSTIN POWERS!

Comments:  Y'know, at first glance it's easy to miss just how strange this picture is. Okay, so Reflector is mis-coloured, so what?

So, Reflector is coloured the same as Starscream. Not only is he coloured the same as Starscream he's standing right next to him.

Not only that but he's in exactly the same damn pose as Screamer!

That's right. It's Starscream's Reflector fanboy. Frightenning.

"I've got better things to to tonight you turbo revving young punk, I'll straighten you out yet!"

Source:  Season 3 intro, baby!

Comments:  More than likely you've seen this one before, you just didn't know it. It's disturbing, strange and hard to understand at first.

That's right, boys and girls, Springer's head on Kup's body!

The fact that Ultra Magnus is the background with a dark blue head just acts as the cream on a weird, weird crop.

Dance, Targetmasters, dance!

Comments: Now we're getting into 'really weird' territory. At first glance there's not much wrong with this image. Okay, Cybertron is gold. But that's part of the story.

Then you notice that the Autobots aren't cheering the new Golden Age. No; they're cheering the fact that Point Blank and Crosshairs have finally admitted that they love each other, and are showing their affection openly for the first time. After all, the only Transformers dancing in this picture are the two Targetmasters locked in each other's embrace, while everyone looks on, cheering them.

And if that's not enough, take a close look at the two yellow characters in this image. Here you have, quite clearly in the same picture, both Bumblebee and Goldbug. What the heck is up with that?

Tell me if you can recognise the Transformer in the bottom left hand corner. Haven't a clue who he might be. And no, I don't mean Brainstorm, I mean the guy in the other bottom left hand corner.

Comments:  Trailbreaker looking like a woman, a tiny (compared to Prowl) Sunstreaker vacuuming up rocks, Brawn and Gears eating massive cookie dough and the fattest Jazz you ever did see.

Now this is the kind of image that makes you go, "what the f**k?!"
